New Delhi: In a turn of events , the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh breaks his vow of silence( A vow of silence is a personal pledge to refrain from speaking). Mr. Singh took this oath to remain silent with the intent of contemplation since January 1st 2012. Since then, he communicated by writing notes. The personal physician of the Prime Minister had expressed concern that though Mr Singh has not been speaking, he continuously thinks and this has resulted in stress, leading to an increase in blood pressure.
The Prime Minster has had a lot to think about. Criticism for his close aides for unsuccessful attempt to win UP election could have been on PM‘s mind. There were rumors that he was concerned about the state of economy, increasing commodity prices and presidential elections. None of these issues really compelled the PM to break his vow of silence. “So what was the reason” asks Rajiv Chopra, head of political think tank based out of New York.
The Prime minister broke his vow of silence to barter peace between feuding tennis superstars Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati. The Prime Minister’s first words were” Backstabbing is part of our culture. I would encourage Leander, Mahesh and Rohan to solve the biggest problem that our country is facing i.e. who will play with Leander in doubles tennis event at the Olympics? “. The Prime minister also refused to make further comments about the economy and state of country.
